Helping others is important to me and I have done a lot of voluntary work in the community over 25 years with several community groups of disabled people and charities and organisations.
I have experience of supporting those with dementia,with a low to moderate diagnoses. I am also able to support with some limited sign language.
I see my work as crucial to supporting carers by offering respite.
I love spending time with my family and friends and have lots of varied hobbies ranging from crafts, theatre, gardening and Fighter Command aviation. I Have a keen interest in WW2 aviation, Fighter Command WW2 and the RAF.
I am a qualified holistic therapist and love internet research.
I have travelled previously (sometimes escorting international National Disabled Sports Teams.) Have travelled top to bottom of the East Coast of Australia and South Africa and visited Canada, USA and Europe.
Services delivered
* Short daily activity based respite/siting services, chatting, reading and engagement * Collecting presciptions
* Support with appointments
* Admin/arranging assistance, contacting dentist, doctors and other agencies etc * Help with the internet (creating a new skill and bringing the ouside world closer) * Light gardening, growing, planting for those not as able as they were but would still like to be involved in sessions in your own home, that help with stress, stimulation with new activities, change of focus, positivity and relaxation.
*Craft Activities These include creating handmade cards with a wide range of different skills, parchment, decoupage, paper folding etc. I also offer other activities such as making gift tags for local charities, crocheting, flower pressing.
* Light housework duties such as putting out washing etc.
